YARD DOGS ROAD SHOW
Born from the saloon vaudeville that toured the Wild West in the late 1800's and slammed into the underworld of modern American subculture. The Yard Dogs create a timeless space for the union of ancient theatrical alchemy and modern pop culture. They lead the modern hobohemian on a visual and sonic journey through part of history that may or may not have existed – followed by an ambitious return to the emotional challenges of our punch-drunk contemporary world.
The Yard Dogs began in California in 1998 as a traveling jug band. The show’s steady success on the west coast paved the way to tours across the U.S. and Europe. They have performed at several notable festivals including Glastonbury, Rothbury, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Lightning in a Bottle and many more. They joined international renowned bassist Les Claypool on his Oddity Faire tour in 2010.
“Eerily authentic vaudeville – and eerie is just the way we like our dusty Americana.”
Washington Post
“If the cabaret had a chapter of the Hell’s Angels, the Yard Dogs Road Show would be it.”
Alarm Magazine
"Brilliantly choreographed to the beat of a kick-ass band... all of which make it like a wonderful acid trip without the comedown. And who wouldn’t want that?"
High Times
“The Yard Dogs Road Show is medicine for the ages. There’s no denying they are driven by the kind of bohemian ideals that don’t get much microphone time these days.”
Boston Globe
